These days the fashion off the runway matters just as much as the fashion on it. New York Fashion Week is all about new designs and new ideas, but sometimes you can spot the stellar and standout style from the front row (aka “the frow”) too. Hollywood A-listers, certified fashionistas, it girls, and all manner of celebrities, flock to NYFW to catch a glimpse of the best that the fashion industry has to offer, and naturally, they all come in droves dressed in their sartorial best. Fashion Week is about seeing the new, upcoming, fashion collections and being seen in the right kind of fashion. Truly, the front row at New York Fashion Week gives a new meaning to the phrases “style spotting” and “people watching.” If you are ready to be wowed by sheer style prowess and unique highly individual expression of style, scroll my top picks below for the best dressed of the NYFW front row. Trust me, this wasn’t an easy process. There were so many amazing looks!

Could you really make a best-dressed list without Olivia Palermo? This Fashion Week fixture can’t seem to make a fashion misstep even if she tried. Always clad in the best pieces and styled to perfection, Olivia Palermo manages to dress in designer garb and own it completely. Donning the color du jour, Marsala, combined with 70s silhouettes and textures, she nails the current trends in this effortless look. The undone hair and the nude lip are great finishing touches.

Zendaya has been killing the fashion game lately. Her unique blend of street style and youthful playfulness and brashness came together in the ensemble that she wore for the DKNY runway show. The sheerness of the skirt and the embellishment plus the stark white trend sneaks and oversized bomber equals urban chic. Not to mention, that ultra modern short haircut with the blingy oversized earrings to match. Ah-mazing.

Leigh Lezark of The Misshapes is the ultimate it girl. New York DJ, occasional model, and constant fashion muse, her typically edgy and rebellious sense of style always shows through.

Most fashionistas worship on the altar of J. Crew Creative Director, Jenna Lyons. You know that impeccable styling that you love from the J. Crew Catalogue? Yup, that’s all her. She has us all drooling with outerwear envy as she sports this shearling leather jacket. I mean, the oversized shape simply drips with downtown NYC girl cool.

Kate Hudson and Allison Williams deliver a one-two style punch as they attend the Michael Kors show. Their sunny matching separates make us want to wish that spring was already here. The feminine and bold floral print as well as the tailoring of their pieces goes to show that the matching set trend is not going anywhere anytime soon. Matchy-matchy is still oh-so-chic.
