Kendall Jenner is now a bona fide high fashion model. Her on point model-off-duty street style aside, Kendall has been surprising a lot of people. Most believed her stint as a model was a publicity stunt but I think we can now put those rumors to rest. With various magazine covers and appearances under her belt, including Vogue, Interview, and LOVE Magazine, and having walked for prominent fashion royalty like Chanel, Diane Von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs, she certainly has cemented her model status. Not only has she shushed the haters and the doubters, Kendall has captured the imagination of designers and industry insiders like influential stylist Katie Grand and Balmain wunderkind creative director Olivier Rousteing. After several seasons as a Fashion Week model, Kendall has proved her mettle on the runway in top desginers’ New York fashion shows. One look at her combination of sweet youthfulness with just a hint of bad girl appeal, and the mystery of why Kendall Jenner is the darling of New York Fashion Week has clearly been solved. And hey, the girl can walk too.
Here’s a rundown of Kendall Jenner’s most memorable appearances during the Fall/Winter 2015-16 New York Fashion Week:
Marc Jacobs’ stylist Katie Grand was the one who gave Kendall Jenner her big break last season. This time around, Jenner wows in the Diana Vreeland inspired Fall 2015 collection. Ladylike silhouettes and vintage textiles with a dark beauty look, this look was practically tailor made for Kendall.
With a naturally flushed beauty to her, this powerful colored fur look from Michael Kors should be enough proof that Kendall has the presence and wherewithal to pull off stellar designer looks with maximum impact.
Alexander Wang is the designer of choice for fashion “it girls” everywhere. Kendall is one of those girls, but she surprised us with her brooding look and modern walk for this avant-garde fashion forward collection.
Wispy and elfish, the hair and makeup for the Vera Wang runway show matched the coquettish and girly appeal of the designs. This babydoll frock is a perfect match for Jenner’s delicate features and innocent aura.
Most of Kendall’s runway appearances this season were dark and edgy. In the Oscar de la Renta show, Jenner shows off her ability to exude drama and old Hollywood glamour.
